GTA Online boasts an expansive list of activities. Ranging from vehicle races and deathmatches, to heists and casino trips, running criminal empires and stealing exotic cars; GTA Online dwarfs other games when it comes to things to do.
However, for an effective esports scene to thrive, competitors must compete on an equal playing field; something which GTA Online currently struggles to provide with its unique game structure.
Game modes
No matter their chosen goal in GTA V – from casual open world grinding for money or high level competition – to competing at high levels, there are various game modes which let players engage with one another and compete against them – from sports specialized games such as Tennis or Golf to classic combat missions and more!
Respect is a cornerstone of GTA V’s gang system and directly impacts which gangs Carl can join as well as how their members react towards him. Players can earn respect through fulfilling missions, taking over gang turf or killing rival gang members or opposing NPCs.
Adversary Mode In and Out offers players exciting group vs group scenarios that are both entertaining and can earn respect in short order. Currently available are several Halloween-themed game modes and Special Cargo Sell Missions can earn double RP and GTA$ rewards; additionally, its dynamic universe of stats may even influence gameplay by increasing stamina or increasing shooting accuracy – giving the chance to experience true competitive gameplay like never before! Missions
GTA V provides several missions designed to build reputation, making these an excellent way to level up and earn both money and other items at the same time.
Some missions can be completed solo while others require multiple players. Heist missions offer the highest RP rewards while other quick missions, like criminal record races, can often be finished within minutes.
The number of gang members the player can recruit depends on their total respect level, displayed as an RP bar at the top of their screen when playing a session. A player’s respect level can be affected by various factors including completion of story missions such as Lester’s assassination missions and stock market missions, or by their relationships with respective gangs whose payphone lights glow brighter when connected.
Payphones
GTA V’s recent Contract Update introduced Payphone Hits, a series of Free Roam missions offering both financial and XP rewards, into Free Roam sessions without Franklin’s Agency membership or affiliation required to take them on. Players will need to fulfill certain pre-requisites before initiating these missions: setting up the Agency business, registering as CEO and completing three Security Contracts through Lester’s office computer system.
Once these requirements are fulfilled, players can locate payphones that ring that prompt them to pick them up and watch a short cutscene before receiving a target with red crosshair icons on the map – some missions like The Trolls or Dealers will require two players working together while other can be completed independently if players kill targets during mission window time – the bonus reward will then be added directly into their accounts!
Customizations
GTA V’s vehicle customization feature is one of its hallmark features, making for a thrilling driving experience and being immensely satisfying when making your fast car look like a rocket ship or adding a spoiler that speeds it even further. Unfortunately, not every car offers enough flexibility for extensive customizations.
Rockstar needs to do a lot of work if they want GTA Online to become an esports title. Heists may be thrilling and enjoyable but don’t provide the kind of competition necessary to produce compelling viewing when only one player takes part at any one time.
GTA+ Members can earn double rewards this week when participating in Mercenary Missions and Air Races, taking on Project Overthrow Missions against Merryweather’s forces, running LSA Operations or participating in LSA Operations – paving the way to quickly climbing through ranks regardless of your preference for playing alone or with groups.
